San Diego Vacation - Part III

Let's close out the San Diego trip. By now, it's old news anyways.

There is a pretty good Merry-Go-Round at the Amusement Park. Teaghan is all business while Maeve is showing that two hands on the horse is for one year olds.

Grandma Joanie popped in and held her youngest Granddaughter, Anya.

I'm not sure what's going on in the background, and Nora Jane isn't telling

Jeff of Carnage fame stopped in for a barbeque with his wife Alex and their first baby, Jackson.

"I'd rather be naked". Obviously, his Dad dressed him for the occasion...

Alex and Anya share a moment.

3/4 of Carnage. Jeff, Scott and Dave. Any interest in autographed prints?

The girls loved hopping in their strollers and going for walks on the boardwalk which runs parallel to the beach for several miles. Here, Anne has Nora Jane and Teaghan in the stroller, and Anya in the Baby Bjorn.

...while Kathy has Gracie and Maeve in her stroller.

Bill (why so serious?) and Kathy.

Mr. Krabs?

3 hour tour?

At the end of each day, the girls got into their pajamas...

...and shared a goodnight hug.

And then ended up at the arcade, where Anne displayed her strong role model skillz.

Speaking of the arcade, here's some footage from earlier in the week. Take special note of Bill's bee keeping skills and Kathy's major league arm.

Eventually, the week was over and it was time to go home... :-(

Gracie, Nora Jane and Kathy say goodbye.

Papa Jack, Grandma Joanie and Anya say goodbye.

Nora Jane, Gracie, Kathy and Bill say goodbye.

Papa Jack, Anya, Anne, Maeve, Scott, Teaghan and Grandma Joanie say goodbye.

You know their names say goodbye.

Papa Jack gets the last word. "Bye".

San Diego Vacation - Part II

continuing from where we left off...

Uncle Brian made the three mile trip to Avalon Court and played with his nieces on the beach. He appears to be trying to get the 3 pounds of sand that Maeve ingested out of her system using some sort of custom Heimlich maneuver.

Meanwhile, just outside the range of Maeve's sandy coughs, Cousin Gracie built immense castles of sand.

Later, we were joined by Auntie Kelly for a barbeque feast and a celebration of those with July Birthdays - Kelly, Bill and Nora Jane.

It's a cupcakensational celebration!

As I always say, if there's one things kids like, it's corn on the cob, as demonstrated here by Cousin Nora Jane.

They* call him the Meat Man**. We just call him Bill.

* I'm not sure who 'they' is/are.
** But I'm sure whoever they are, they really do call him the "Meat Man".

She's young, and doesn't know any better, which explains why Anya was so happy to be in her Uncle Brian's arms.

Later, Anya burned calories in her own private gym.

Maeve tried to keep up, but failed, albeit gracefully.

Each day began with coffee and Email in the Avalon Coffee Shop, aka the kitchen.

On our way to the beach, we stopped off and the kids got ice cream.

Yeah, the servings were HUGE.

As I always say, if there's one thing kids like, it's vanilla ice cream.... Wait a minute.

After ice cream we headed to the beach. The water was 70 degrees!

We dug swimming pools in the sand and let the waves fill them up.

Maeve helped wash out the buckets when we were ready to go.

At the end of the day, we walked to the boardwalk to watch the sun set. Little Anya let us know how she felt about the process.

As the sun set, Teaghan and Maeve played on the sea wall.

Just awful. Ugly. Why does anybody even come here?

San Diego Vacation - Part I

Los Lynches are back from San Diego, looking tanned and feeling rested. We had a great week with the Hawk's Nest Crew in a house on Avalon Court in the Mission Beach area of San Diego.

As you can see from the map, we were literally a minute away from the beach on foot. The girls absolutely loved it.

Oh my Goodness, WHERE DID THEIR FEET GO!!!!!!!!!????

Here's some video footage of the walk from the house to the water's edge.

More pics and video coming soon!

"Guy's Day Out" aka "A Day at the Rosa's House"

The day after the 4th, Los Lynches headed down to San Jose for the 76th Annual Guy's Day Out get together. Oddly enough, what started out as a true Guy's Day Out (golf, beer, etc....) has quickly evolved into a family event. The Rosas decked out the front yard with a pool and a bouncy house and served up copious amounts of delicious food and beverages.

The Rosas, the Schechtmans, the Mangalicks and Los Lynches pose for a group shot. A couple of the girls were wearing their invisible bathing suits. Thankfully, Spongebob appeared, cloned himself, and made sure everyone was decent.

The Guys. Rob, Chris, Scott and Piyush.

Uncle Chris introduced Anya to the wonders of frozen H20. It's now one of her favorite things!

The big kids sat down for some pictures too. Ahnika, Mia, Teaghan, Maeve and Ben accomodated the parentrazzi for a good 45 seconds. Way to go kids!

Betty Rosa showed off her Grandma skillz by taming Aiden and Anya. At the same time!

Meanwhile, Bosco kept watch over the yard and made sure all the kids were safe and sound. Good boy.

Here's some video footage of the kids at play in the pool and the bouncy house.

The 4th of July, Part 03 - Barbeque and Slip 'N Slide

After the parade, Los Lynches headed home for a 4th of July barbeque. They were joined by Grandma Joanie and Papa Jack and their friend Christina, and her two beautiful daughters, Jamie and Sarah.

Anne (1st Place Finisher), Christina and Grandma Joanie found a shady spot to chill out for a bit.

Anya joined them...

Before long, Grandma Joanie and Anne were inside the house having their own little 4th of July Parade.

Soon after, Papa Jack, Scott and Grandma Joanie had their own celebration out on the patio.

Meanwhile, the kids were up on the grass, having a blast on the Slip 'N Slide.

Sarah got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Teaghan made the biggest splashes.

Jamie couldn't help but smile at the fun she was having!

And of course, little Maeve was right in the middle of the action.

Here's some footage of the Slip 'N Slide action:

The Slip 'N Slide aftermath.

Los Lynches ended their very busy 4th by watching the Redwood City Fire Works from the comfort of their balcony. What a day!
